The primary focus of art education in the Arnulf Rainer Museum is to encourage a self-paced and individual contact with Arnulf Rainer’s artistic work. Practice-focused and dialogue-oriented educational concepts, tailored to each age level, foster a new understanding of Arnulf Rainer’s work and themes through creative and multi-disciplinary approaches.

Tour with Historical Focus
Working from Rainer's Hiroshima cycle, a brief overview historical events since 1945 will be discussed with the group.
Central themes include the Cold War, the fall of the Iron Curtain and the development of a new understanding of 'the enemy,' with September 11, 2001 as a culmination point of contemporary conflict.
Through practical and artistic work, students will discuss the concept of terrorism as a modern form of war.
Tour with Focus on Religion
The symbolism of the cross in world religions.
In small groups, students explore the museum and discover the rich symbolic language of religions.
Working from Arnulf Rainer's cross works, students are exposed to concepts like the meaning of the cross and various religious symbols, as well as drawing connections to other cultures and religions.
