"Duette Duelle", the new exhibition at the Arnulf Rainer Museum in Baden, illuminates various facets of artistic dialogue and collaborative creative processes - a topic that is of great relevance to his work, regardless of Arnulf Rainer's self-stylization as a manic loner. This is illustrated, for example, by his well-known work series “Face Farces” and “Body Poses” as well as joint works with Dieter Roth and Günter Brus.
An idea that has already formed the basis of several exhibitions of the house, namely to contrast Rainer's work with other artistic positions, is taken up and "transposed" in the current show: Following the motif "Duette Duelle" are large-format joint works by Brigitte Kowanz and Franz Graf from the early seen in the marble bathrooms of the former women's baths in the 1980s.
