Description
Inspiring conversations about art and culture with prominent guests in a historic setting
Guest on 26 April 2026:
Nikolaus Kratzer, Curator
Once, the Hall of Mirrors at the Arnulf Rainer Museum was a social meeting place for Baden’s spa guests and prominent visitors. Today, the museum’s historic rooms occasionally become a place of encounter once again, an inviting setting for lively discussions about art and culture with changing guests, followed by a creative session.
Under the motto “Backstage: Insights into Curating the Exhibition Arnulf Rainer & Art Brut,” participants gain exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into the planning and realization of the exhibition curated together with collector Helmut Zambo. In his role as Head of the Art Collection of Lower Austria, Nikolaus Kratzer offers fascinating perspectives on collecting strategies as well as the storage and conservation of artworks and is happy to respond to questions from the audience.
Following an engaging conversation over coffee and cake, Nikolaus Kratzer leads participants through the exhibition.
During coffee, cake, and inspiring exchange, participants are also invited to explore the technique of doodling. High-quality paper and suitable drawing tools are provided to capture thoughts, note questions, or give free rein to the imagination. This creative method not only stimulates creativity but is also deeply relaxing.
